Zacharie Orange Violet
Zacharie Orange Violet is a wallpaper built around a large feather motif drawn in orange, red and purple. The colors overlap rather than sit side by side, so the plumes shift from warm coral-orange into deeper reds and violet as the pattern repeats. The drawing is graphic rather than botanical, closer to a print than to a nature study, which gives the design its retro and modern-art character.
Surface and finish
The surface is smooth, with a shiny finish that picks up light across the wall. That sheen makes the orange and red areas read brighter in daylight and warms the purple tones under lamplight in the evening. Because there is no relief texture, the pattern edges stay crisp and the colors keep their clarity from close up as well as from across the room. These wallpapers are premium quality.
Where it works
A pattern this strong does most of its work on a single wall. It suits a feature wall or the stretch of wall behind a sofa, where the feathers are seen whole. Used across all four walls it fits maximalist interiors and rooms that already carry pattern and color.
- Living room and dining room, paired with dark wood or brass
- Bedroom, usually on the headboard wall only
- Hallway, kitchen and home office
For furnishings, plain upholstery in cream, charcoal or deep plum keeps the feathers dominant. Matte paint in one of the purple or orange tones on the remaining walls ties the scheme together without competing with the print.
