Tess Grey Brown
Tess Grey Brown is a stone-pattern wallpaper in gray and brown. The design reproduces the look of set stone, with blocks of varying size and tone sitting next to each other, so the wall reads as a built surface rather than a repeating motif. The gray carries the pattern and the brown warms it, which keeps the overall effect closer to weathered masonry than to cool concrete.
Pattern and color
Because the stones differ in shade from one to the next, the pattern does not draw attention to where one length of paper meets another. That makes it a practical choice for a large uninterrupted wall, where a small regular repeat would be more obvious. The mix of gray and brown also gives you two directions to decorate in: pick up the gray with steel, glass and black metal, or follow the brown with wood, leather and woven baskets. These are premium quality wallpapers.
Style and rooms
The stone look belongs to two styles at once. In an industrial scheme it works with exposed fittings, dark frames and plain functional furniture. In farmhouse rooms the same pattern reads as old wall rather than factory, especially alongside solid timber and simple textiles. The wider range of stone designs is worth comparing if you want a different scale of block.
- Living room walls, whole or partial
- Bedrooms, often on the wall behind the bed
- Hallways and stairwells
- Home offices and dining rooms
In a accent wall position it gives a room a clear focal surface while the remaining walls stay painted. A hallway suits it well too, since the darker tones stand up to daily traffic visually and coats, shoes and open doors read as part of the scheme instead of against it.
