Stanislas Beige
Also available in:
Stanislas Beige is a plain wallpaper in a single beige shade, with no motif or repeat to line up. The colour is warm and neutral, sitting between cream and sand, so it reads as a quiet backdrop rather than a feature in its own right. Because there is no pattern, the wall stays even from corner to corner and the eye goes to whatever is placed in front of it. These are premium quality wallpapers.
Colour and style
A solid beige is one of the easier colours to build a room around. It holds up next to white trim, oak and walnut, black metal fittings and most upholstery, and it does not fight with art, textiles or a patterned floor. The design belongs to the minimalist range, where the point is a clean surface and few competing elements, and it comes from the Michalsky collection. If you are matching walls across adjoining rooms, the wider selection of beige wallpapers makes that straightforward, and other unpatterned designs work as companions in the same scheme.
Where it works
A plain wall covering suits rooms that already have plenty going on, and equally rooms kept deliberately spare. It can cover all four walls without becoming heavy, which is why it is often used across a whole floor rather than on one surface only.
- Living rooms, including behind a TV or shelving
- Bedrooms, whole room or headboard wall
- Kitchens and dining rooms
- Hallways, home offices, bathrooms and nurseries
In a living room it gives pictures and furniture a clear ground to sit against, and it is a practical choice for a narrow hallway, where a pattern can make the space feel tighter than it is. In a work room the plain surface keeps the field of view calm behind a desk or a screen.
