Severine White Gray
Also available in:
Séverine White Grey is a botanical wallpaper that sets gray plant forms against a white ground. The drawing stays light and open, with clear space between the motifs, so the pattern reads as a quiet print rather than a dense thicket of leaves. With only two tones in play, the design keeps its structure at a distance and shows its detail up close.
Surface and finish
The finish is matte, so the white ground holds the same value in daylight and under lamps instead of flaring into bright patches. The surface is smooth, which sharpens the outlines of the plant shapes and keeps the print crisp where the lines are fine. A smooth face is also easy to keep free of dust along the top of a wall. More prints in this vein sit in the botanical range, and related gray and white designs are grouped together as well. These are premium quality wallpapers.
Style and rooms
The pairing of white with gray suits country style interiors built on painted wood and plain textiles, and it fits Scandinavian schemes just as well, where pale floors and simple furniture do most of the work. It sits behind dark furniture without making the room heavy, and it gives framed prints, open shelving and plain curtains a background that does not compete with them.
- Living rooms, including a single accent wall
- Bedrooms, kids rooms and nurseries
- Kitchens and dining rooms
- Hallways, home offices and bathrooms
In a bedroom the light ground keeps the walls calm, and in a narrow hallway the white background makes the space read as wider than a solid dark color would.
