Rayane Creme Foncee
Rayane Dark Creme is a wallpaper with a wood pattern rendered in gray. The grain runs across the surface in the way sawn timber does, with darker lines and lighter fields alternating so the wall reads as boards rather than a flat color. Because the tone stays in the gray range, the effect is quieter than real wood paneling and easier to combine with painted walls.
Surface and finish
The finish is matte, so there is no reflection to break up the grain under lamps or daylight. The surface is also textured, giving the grain a shallow relief you can feel with your hand, which is what makes the printed boards look like a material instead of a photograph. That relief has a practical side too: it softens the look of small dents and uneven patches in the wall behind it. These are premium quality wallpapers. Anyone drawn to this kind of relief will find more in the textured selection, and the full range of wood designs covers other grains and board widths.
Rooms and pairings
The style is contemporary, which puts it alongside plain upholstery, black or brushed metal fittings and furniture with straight lines. Gray gives colored accents something neutral to sit against, so cushions, artwork and rugs keep their own weight.
- Living rooms, including a single accent wall
- Bedrooms and teen rooms
- Kitchens and dining rooms
- Hallways, home offices and bathrooms
In a living room the board pattern gives a shelving wall or a television wall some definition without adding color. In a hallway, where there is rarely space for much furniture, the grain carries the whole surface on its own.
