Raphaelle Green Gray
Raphaëlle Green Grey is a densely drawn wallpaper that combines flowers, foliage and birds across a grey ground. The green tones carry most of the pattern, with leaves and blooms layered over one another so the design fills the wall rather than sitting in isolated sprigs. The grey behind it holds the composition together and keeps the greens from reading as loud.
Pattern and color
The drawing works on two scales at once. Larger flower heads and broad leaves set the rhythm, while smaller stems and birds fill the spaces between them, including peacocks worked into the foliage. Seen from across a room the wall reads as a green and grey mass; up close the individual motifs separate out. It sits comfortably with the shop's other peacock patterns and the wider range of large-scale florals. These are premium quality wallpapers.
Style and rooms
The look is tropical and retro at the same time, with enough pattern density to belong in maximalist schemes. It also reads as Asian-inspired, which makes it a good match for dark wood, rattan, brass fittings and deep upholstery. Against plain walls elsewhere in the room, it works best as the single patterned surface. Keep curtains and rugs unpatterned and let the paper do the work.
- Living rooms, often as an accent wall
- Bedrooms, including behind the bed
- Hallways, kitchens and dining rooms
- Offices, bathrooms and nurseries
In a living room the grey ground keeps a full wall of pattern from crowding the seating area. In an office or a hallway, where walls are short and often broken by doors, the small motifs stay legible even on narrow stretches.
