Paula Cream
Paula Creme is a near-plain wallpaper in cream with beige and gray in the mix. Fine dots are scattered across the ground at close intervals, small enough that from a few steps back the wall reads as a single soft color and the dotting shows only as a gentle speckle. The three shades sit close together in tone, so the surface stays even from one end of a wall to the other.
Surface and finish
The look is matte, with no gloss to pick up light from windows or lamps, which keeps the cream tone consistent through the day. The surface is textured in a fabric-like weave, giving the paper a slight relief under the hand and helping to disguise minor unevenness in the wall beneath. That combination of a woven structure and a quiet dot makes it easy to use over large areas, including walls broken up by doors and radiators. It also works as a partner to bolder papers, filling the remaining walls without competing. These are premium quality wallpapers. There is more in the same vein among the dotted designs and the solid-color papers.
Style and rooms
The muted palette suits country and vintage schemes, and the fabric texture fits boho chic rooms built on rattan, plants and layered textiles. Painted wood, linen, wicker and brushed metal all sit well against it, and framed pictures read clearly on a ground this quiet.
- Living rooms, including the wall behind a TV unit
- Bedrooms and nurseries
- Kitchens and dining rooms
- Hallways, home offices and bathrooms
In a hallway the pale ground makes a narrow space feel lighter, and in a nursery the small dots give something to look at without fixing the room to one age group. Gray-toned cabinets in a kitchen pick up the cooler shade in the paper.
