Olympe Green Grey
Olympe Green Grey is a botanical wallpaper that sets leafy plant forms against a gray ground in shades of green. The gray keeps the greens from reading as bright, so the pattern stays in the mid tones and the foliage holds its shape from across the room. The drawing is large enough to be read as a design rather than a small repeat, which makes it suited to full walls as well as single stretches.
Pattern and color
The botanical motif is tropical in character, built on broad leaves and stems rather than small flowers or geometric repeats. Green and gray are close in weight here, and that balance is what makes the paper usable in rooms that already have wood, stone or upholstered furniture in neutral colors. It pairs well with black metal fittings, rattan, dark green textiles and plain white woodwork, and it gives a room its pattern in one place so the rest can stay simple. If the plant theme is what draws you, the forest & trees designs cover similar ground. These are premium quality wallpapers.
Suitable rooms
Because the colors are muted, the pattern works in rooms used through the day as well as in rooms meant to feel enclosed.
- Living room walls, including behind a sofa
- Bedrooms, on all four walls or one
- Hallways and stairwells
- Home offices and dining rooms
In a living room the large motif carries a wall on its own, so pictures and shelves are best kept to the plainer surfaces. A hallway gives the design a reason to be seen in short views, where the repeat registers quickly. In a bedroom the gray keeps the greens calm behind the headboard, and in a dining room it sits comfortably with a wooden table and simple seating.
