Nelly Multicolor
Nelly Colore is an abstract wallpaper in yellow, orange and pink. The shapes are loose and irregular rather than repeated in a strict grid, and the three warm shades overlap across the design so the wall reads as multicolor from a distance and as separate forms up close. Yellow carries most of the brightness, with orange giving the pattern weight and pink softening the contrast between the two.
Pattern and color
Because the drawing is abstract, there is no single motif to line up with furniture or fixtures, which makes the paper forgiving on walls interrupted by doors, sockets or shelving. The warm range keeps the whole surface active, so one wall is usually enough to set the color of a room. These are premium quality wallpapers. If the freehand character appeals to you, the Modern Art selection covers similar ground, and the broader Patterns range shows how it compares with more structured designs.
Style and rooms
The look is Retro, in the sense of the bold warm palettes used in mid-century and later twentieth-century interiors. It sits well with teak or walnut furniture, rounded upholstery shapes and brass or chrome fittings, and it holds its own against plain white paint on the remaining walls. Keep textiles quiet, in solid colors picked from the paper, and the room stays balanced.
- Living rooms, including behind a sofa
- Bedrooms, on the wall behind the bed
- Hallways and stairwells
- Home offices and study corners
In a Living room it works best as a single papered wall with seating in front of it. A Hallway is another good place for it, since the warm shades carry through a space that often has little daylight and few furnishings to compete with.
