Margaux Purple
Also available in:
Margaux Purple is a multicolored wallpaper that combines floral and nature motifs with portrait figures and abstract shapes. The palette runs from cream and yellow through orange and pink into purple, blue and gray, so the design carries several color families at once without settling on a single dominant shade. The mix of recognizable flowers and looser abstract forms gives the pattern plenty to look at up close, while from across a room it reads as a dense, warm-toned composition.
Surface and finish
The appearance is matte, with no gloss to reflect lamplight or sun, which keeps the many colors reading consistently from one side of the wall to the other. The surface is smooth, so the printed detail in the portraits and petals stays sharp rather than being broken up by relief. Smooth stock also sits flat against a well-prepared wall and is simple to wipe down along edges and corners. These are premium quality wallpapers.
Style and rooms
The busy color range and figurative elements place this firmly in maximalism, with clear vintage and retro references in the drawing and the muted yellows. The portrait motifs and floral framing also give it an Asian-Inspired character. Pair it with plain upholstery, dark wood or painted furniture, and keep framed art to a minimum so the pattern is not competing with it.
- Living rooms, including as an accent wall
- Bedrooms, on one wall or all four
- Hallways, dining rooms and home offices
In a living room the pattern works best on the wall you see when you enter, with the remaining walls left plain. A hallway suits it well too, since the detail gets looked at in passing rather than for hours at a time, and the warm tones lift a space that often has little daylight.
