Marceline Multicolor
Also available in:
Marceline Colorful is a floral wallpaper with botanical and animal motifs spread across a beige ground. Flowers and foliage appear in yellow, pink, purple, blue and green, with grey and black used for outlines and shading. The mix of shades is dense, so the pattern carries a wall on its own without much else on it.
Pattern and finish
The surface is smooth, with no relief under the hand, and the matte finish keeps light from bouncing off the paper. That matters with a design this colorful: the shades stay even from one end of the wall to the other, and the drawing stays legible in a corner or a hallway where daylight is limited. Plant forms and animal figures are combined in the same repeat, so the design reads as part botanical and part animal. The beige background keeps the brighter tones from running together. These are premium quality wallpapers.
Style and rooms
The design fits vintage and retro schemes, and its density suits maximalist interiors built on layered pattern and color. The tropical and exotic character works with rattan, dark wood and plain upholstery, and the purple and yellow notes give you a starting point for cushions, lampshades or painted joinery.
- Feature walls in living rooms, including behind a sofa
- Bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways
- Kitchens, bathrooms and home offices
- Nurseries and kids rooms
In a dining room the pattern holds its own above a sideboard or paneling. In a nursery the animals give something to look at, while the beige base keeps the whole scheme from turning loud.
