Elsa Cream Black
Elsa Creme Noire is a wallpaper with a botanical design drawn in black on a cream ground. Plants and animal motifs share the same line work, so the pattern holds together as one drawing rather than two separate themes. With only two colors in play, the design reads clearly from across a room and stays graphic up close.
Pattern and color
The cream ground keeps the wall light, while the black outlines carry all the detail. That contrast is high, so the motifs stay legible even on a wall that gets little daylight, and the pale base stops the black from making a room feel closed in. Because the palette is limited, the paper sits well next to wood, rattan, painted furniture and black metal fittings without adding a third color to the scheme. It belongs among the animals designs, where the motifs are part of the drawing rather than a repeated stamp. These are premium quality wallpapers.
Style and rooms
The design works in Boho Chic rooms built on natural textures and layered textiles, and it also suits minimalist interiors, where a single patterned wall does the work and everything else stays plain. Pair it with undyed linen, plain curtains and open shelving, and let the pattern be the only figure in the room.
- Living room walls, including behind a sofa
- Bedrooms, on all four walls or one alone
- Kitchens and dining rooms
- Hallways and home offices
In a living room the black line work gives framed prints and dark furniture something to relate to. A narrow hallway benefits from the light ground, and in a dining room the pattern gives the table wall interest without adding color to the table setting.
