Dominique Beige Black
Dominique Beige Black is a wallpaper that combines a concrete look with marble veining, printed in cream, beige and black. The base reads as a mineral surface with the mottling and tonal shifts of poured concrete, while darker veins run across it in the manner of cut stone. The black stays in the veining and the deeper shadows, so the overall impression is light rather than heavy.
Pattern and color
Cream and beige carry most of the wall, which keeps the design from closing in a room, and the black lines give it definition at close range. Seen from across a room the pattern resolves into a broad stone surface; up close the veining and the fine variation in the ground become visible. Because the marbling is irregular, the repeat is hard to pick out, and the wall reads more like a material than a printed motif. These are premium quality wallpapers. There is more in the same vein in the marble selection.
Rooms and styling
The stone reference and the strong contrast between cream and black place this design in the Art Déco line, where polished surfaces and clear geometry are usual. It sits well with dark wood, brass fittings, velvet upholstery and mirrored or glass furniture, and it gives plain seating and simple lighting a defined backdrop.
- Living rooms, including as an accent wall
- Bedrooms, often behind the bed
- Entryways and corridors
- Home offices and study corners
In a living room the neutral ground leaves room for artwork and shelving without crowding them. In a hallway, where there is usually little furniture, the marble veining supplies the visual interest on its own.
