Adèle Dark Green Gold is a feather-patterned wallpaper drawn in gold over a dark green ground. The feathers are spread across the surface at a steady scale, each one outlined in metallic gold that picks up light while the deep green behind stays constant. The result is a dark wall with bright detail rather than a dark wall alone.
Pattern and color
Two tones carry the whole design. The dark green base absorbs light and makes a room read as enclosed, which is why it tends to work better on a full wall than in small patches. The gold feather motif breaks that depth up at regular intervals, so the wall keeps some movement under lamplight and in daylight from a window. If you are building a scheme around this pair of shades, the green and gold combinations are worth comparing side by side, and there is a wider selection of deep green designs if you want the same weight of color in a different pattern. These are premium quality wallpapers.
Style and rooms
The feather motif sits in the tropical category, close in spirit to large leaf patterns but finer in line. It pairs with dark wood, rattan, brass fittings and plain upholstery in cream or tan. Against white paintwork the contrast is sharp; against warm neutrals it settles down.
- Living rooms, including a single accent wall
- Bedrooms, behind the bed or across all four walls
- Hallways and stairwells
- Home offices and study corners
In a living room it gives shelving and framed prints a dark backdrop to stand against. A hallway takes the pattern well because you pass through rather than sit in it, and in a home office the gold detail keeps a dark wall from feeling flat behind a desk.
